By Chetanya Sarraf JBL Cove: JBL’s New Whole-Home Audio Experience JBL has introduced a Wi-Fi speaker family(JBL Cove) designed to make multi-room audio easier to build and manage. The system connects compatible speakers through the home network, allowing music to follow listeners from one room to another or play independently in different spaces. JBL Cove built around flexibility The range includes M1, P1 and X1 speakers, giving users different ways to build a home audio setup. The compact M1 suits everyday listening, while the portable P1 offers battery-powered use along with Dolby Atmos support. The X1 sits at the top of the range with a larger acoustic design aimed at room-filling sound. Each model can work alone, as a stereo pair, or as part of a wider multi-room arrangement. Through the JBL One app, users can group compatible speakers and manage playback across rooms. This makes the system useful for homes where listening habits change throughout the day. What makes the X1 interesting? The flagship X1 is built around a 3.0.1-channel configuration with four 1.25-inch tweeters and two 90 x 120mm woofers. It delivers up to 200W RMS and supports Dolby Atmos Music, giving compatible tracks a wider and more spacious presentation. The JBL Cove speaker is designed for listeners who want strong room-filling audio without giving up the convenience of a connected home system. That combination makes the X1 more than a conventional wireless speaker. It is designed to become part of a broader home entertainment setup, especially for listeners who want a central speaker that can later expand into stereo or whole-home audio. Wi-Fi connectivity gives the JBL Cove an added advantage. A major part of the experience comes from network-based streaming. The X1 offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with support for AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready. The Moment button adds another convenient touch. It can start saved content quickly, while Music Follows Me lets listeners move playback to the room they are using by pressing and holding the button. JBL says the feature lets users access it without picking up their phone or opening the app. Sound can follow you around the home The whole-home concept becomes more interesting when multiple speakers are involved. Users can play the same music throughout the house, create different listening zones, or keep separate audio playing in individual rooms. JBL’s system goes beyond simply increasing the volume of a single speaker. Compatible JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars can also be paired with these speakers. Supported configurations allow Cove speakers to serve as rear channels, extending the connected system for home cinema. JBL says the JBL One app can add compatible Cove speakers to supported soundbars for immersive Dolby Atmos home theater. JBL Cove X1 price and availability The launch pricing gives a clearer picture of where the new range sits. JBL priced the M1 at £199.99/€229.99, the P1 at £399.99/€449.99, and the X1 at £429.99/€499.99. The company announced availability through JBL.com from October 2026. In the United States, the X1 is currently listed at $449.95 on JBL’s official store. That makes the Jbl cove x1 price relevant for buyers comparing premium wireless speakers, although local pricing and availability can vary by market. What should buyers consider? The system is most useful when a buyer actually wants connected-room audio. Someone looking only for a simple Bluetooth speaker may not need the additional whole-home features. For shoppers comparing the JBL Cove price across the lineup, the M1, P1 and X1 serve noticeably different purposes. The M1 focuses on compact home listening, the P1 combines portability with Dolby Atmos, and the X1 targets larger spaces and more powerful performance. It also supports flexible placement, making it easier to adapt audio to changing household routines. Users can choose one speaker for a particular room or gradually expand the setup as their needs grow. The ability to play synchronized music throughout the home or separate content in different rooms gives the platform a useful level of flexibility. Another benefit is that buyers do not necessarily have to create a complete multi-room system from the beginning. A single compatible speaker can be used first, with additional models added later. This approach can make the system easier to adapt to different home layouts and budgets. Pros and Cons Pros: Whole-home Wi-Fi audio with flexible room grouping Dolby Atmos support on P1 and X1 Multiple streaming options Automatic self-tuning and AI Sound Boost Compatibility with JBL Bar MK2 soundbars Cons: The X1 requires a mains power connection for operation. Full benefits depend on a suitable home network Premium pricing may not suit basic Bluetooth-speaker buyers Some features and services can vary by country Final thoughts The JBL Cove X1 Review picture is centered on flexibility rather than simply raw speaker power. The X1 combines a substantial driver arrangement with Dolby Atmos Music, network streaming and software-based features designed for everyday whole-home listening. The wider range is arguably more important than any single model because M1, P1 and X1 allow users to choose a speaker based on room size, portability and listening needs. JBL is also positioning the platform as expandable, so a single-room setup can grow over time. For people who want music to move naturally around the home, the system offers a practical approach. Its strongest differentiator is the combination of Wi-Fi, multi-room grouping, Music Follows Me and compatibility with selected soundbars. JBL’s official documentation also highlights three-step setup through the JBL One app, which keeps the initial configuration straightforward. For users who want a premium connected speaker system, the range is therefore worth understanding as a complete ecosystem rather than as three unrelated speakers. The different models give buyers room to choose according to their space, portability requirements and listening habits. FAQs What does the system include?
